Summary of Image Data Structures

Summary

In this chapter we have explained what an image data is and how it is stored in raster graphics and vector graphics. We then discussed some of the image representation techniques like quadtrees, virtual quadtrees, octrees, R-trees and translation invariant data structures. Finally, we have given a brief introduction to Content-Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) systems.

For more information on image retrieval concepts see 4], [5], [25], [26].
